NBA Star Kyle Kuzma Calls for Freedom From Hamas and Iranian-Backed Terror

NBA player Kyle Kuzma, currently with the Milwaukee Bucks, has issued a strong statement against Hamas and Iranian-backed terrorism, urging for the freedom of Palestinians from these groups. His remarks came in response to footage of a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Mexico City, where antisemitic chants such as "Jews out" were reportedly heard.

Kuzma, who is not Jewish, stated, "If you believe Palestinians deserve freedom, say it clearly. Freedom from Hamas too. Freedom from Iranian-backed terror. Freedom from leaders who use civilians as shields. Compassion cannot be selective." He has previously expressed support for Israel, notably after the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack, writing, "Israel ❤️? Truly awful things are happening right now, and my prayers are with them."

The player also has a connection to Israeli NBA player Deni Avdija, having been teammates in Washington. Kuzma even attended Avdija's Jewish wedding in May, humorously remarking on the experience. Earlier in July, Kuzma criticized New York City Mayor Eric Adams for suggesting he would arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visited the city, calling Adams a "mayor playing president."
