Israel Conducts Targeted Strikes in Gaza, Lebanon, and West Bank

On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, marking the 1075th day of the "War of Revival" (also known as "Swords of Iron"), the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported ongoing operations in Judea and Samaria, with continued actions in Arab communities. The IDF maintains control over a buffer zone in southern Lebanon and southwestern Syria, conducting periodic strikes and operations within these territories. In Gaza, a ceasefire is formally in effect, though the IDF controls a buffer zone encompassing over 60% of the strip. The IDF stated it attacks terrorists in response to violations and conducts targeted assassinations.

Earlier that day, the IDF and the Shin Bet confirmed the elimination of Na'al Abu Abaid, identified as a Hamas brigade commander in Rafah and head of the operational wing's intelligence department. He was killed in an airstrike, having reportedly taken command after the previous commander's elimination. Palestinian sources reported two deaths and 14 injuries from an IDF airstrike in the Khan Yunis area.

In the late afternoon, the IDF announced the killing of Mohsen Farid Said Abu al-Hadhaf, a commander in Islamic Jihad's rocket unit, who participated in the October 7, 2023, attack on the Kissufim area. He was involved in training operatives before October 7 and recently continued to develop the organization's capabilities. Muhammad Khader Fahmi Ajur, also from Hamas's military wing and involved in weapons production, was eliminated in a separate strike in Gaza City. The IDF stated both were advancing terror plans and rebuilding the organization's capabilities, violating the ceasefire.

In southern Lebanon, IDF forces discovered and destroyed a combat position containing a concrete shelter and ready-to-fire rocket launchers loaded with 32 rockets targeting Israel. The IDF stated it would not allow Hezbollah to harm Israeli citizens and would continue to address threats while adhering to the ceasefire.
