US Congress Delegation Visits Galilee to Support Druze Community

A delegation from the U.S. Congress recently visited the village of Buqeiya in the Galilee region. The visit's primary goal was to gain a closer understanding of the village and its Druze community, including their history, culture, and social and educational realities. The delegation was accompanied by the head of the local council, attorney Jamil Khair, along with school principals, social and educational figures, and youth movement representatives.

During the visit, members of the delegation were introduced to Buqeiya's key landmarks, institutions, and social fabric. The trip also aimed to broaden the delegation's knowledge of the Druze community and to hear about their concerns and aspirations, particularly in light of recent developments in the southern Syrian province of Suwayda. The intention is to provide a firsthand account to U.S. Congress members and to help bolster support for Suwayda and its residents.

Participants emphasized the importance of such visits in strengthening communication with U.S. decision-makers and conveying the voice and issues of the Druze community to international forums.
