Hostage Survivor Slams Film Accusing IDF of Civilian Killings

Hostage survivor Lyri Albag launched a scathing attack on Yuval Avraham, a journalist and filmmaker behind the documentary "Nez"a," which won an award at the Venice Film Festival. The film accuses IDF soldiers of intentionally and systematically killing civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Albag expressed outrage at the film's claims, telling Avraham, "You know that even if you were only in the army for two weeks and discharged due to your political views, if you were captured by Hamas, you would still be considered a soldier in their eyes? That's how they would have abused you, for being a soldier."

She continued, "You sold out your people for people who wish for your death, and for that, there is no forgiveness." Albag described the brutal reality of facing Hamas terrorists, emphasizing that no ideological stance would have prevented harm on October 7th. "Do you understand that on October 7th, if you were in the Gaza envelope, none of the terrorists would have stopped and said, 'Hey, leave him alone, he's fine, don't touch him,' or perhaps you would have simply joined the 'struggle for Palestinian liberation' and harmed your own people?"

Albag concluded by calling for strong action against such creators in Israel, questioning their citizenship and stating they should be expelled from the country. Her remarks follow similar strong criticism from other former hostages, including Eli-H Cohen and Rom Bar-Levsky, who defended IDF soldiers and warned the film could incite hatred against Israelis and Jews worldwide.
