Maccabi Tel Aviv Player Defends Goal Celebration Amidst Controversy

Maccabi Tel Aviv player Osher Davida addressed controversy surrounding his goal celebration following his team's 4-1 victory over Hapoel Tel Aviv in a heated derby match. Davida, who scored and celebrated with the "pew pew" gesture, stated that he performs this celebration after every goal and did so previously against Maccabi Haifa as well. He acknowledged that some might perceive the celebration as provocative but expressed understanding, adding that he would celebrate similarly regardless of which side of the field he scored on.

Davida attributed the team's success, including winning their first four games of the season, to adhering to the coach's game plan. He expressed confidence in the team's ability to continue their strong start, with one more game before a break.

Coach Kenny Miller praised his team's fantastic performance and the four goals scored, highlighting the support from the fans. While acknowledging some sloppiness, Miller was pleased with the numerous chances created and the team's attacking approach, which he felt deserved the late goals. He recognized Hapoel Tel Aviv as a good and organized team but emphasized Maccabi Tel Aviv's superior play in the match.
