Israeli Election Candidate Demands AG's Dismissal
Netali Sham Tov, ranked third on the 'Amcha Israel' Knesset list, stated that advancing judicial reform will be her party's top priority. Speaking on Radio Galai Israel's 'Pתchi and Zamri Ba'am' program, Sham Tov criticized the current balance of power between the legislative and judicial branches. She argued that the judiciary's unlimited authority to invalidate any law, regardless of legislative majority, must change. Sham Tov asserted that without this change, elections and her own candidacy are pointless if a single judge can overturn laws.
Sham Tov also sharply criticized the Attorney General, calling for her immediate dismissal. "Certainly, she must be fired. She sabotaged the work of the security bodies," Sham Tov declared. She further alleged the Attorney General's conduct is unprofessional, citing past Supreme Court criticism that judges have told her she invents legal rules.
