Eyal Berkovich Calls to Revoke Citizenship Over 'Incidental Damage' Film

Former Israeli soccer star Eyal Berkovich expressed outrage over the documentary film 'Incidental Damage' (Nazea), which he believes unfairly portrays Israel's actions during the recent conflict. Speaking on his radio show with Yaakov Segal on 103FM, Berkovich stated that the film's creators should have acknowledged the October 7th attacks and suggested that Israel should have killed "much more" in response. He called the film's narrative a betrayal and advocated for revoking the citizenship of those involved, or for the National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to handle them.

Segal echoed Berkovich's criticism, condemning the film's presentation of soldier testimonies and calling it a serious offense. He questioned the anonymous claims made in the film about Israel killing 500 Palestinians without evidence, urging accusers to come forward publicly if they believe war crimes were committed. Segal emphasized that individuals harming the State of Israel should have their citizenship revoked, deeming it worse than treason.

Berkovich further elaborated that he refused to watch the film and reiterated his stance that in war, people are killed. He suggested that the film might be fabricated and that the individuals featured are unknown to him. He also criticized the Israeli government's public diplomacy efforts, contrasting it with the perceived effectiveness of the TV series 'Fauda'.
