North Macedonia Confirms Return to Eurovision After Four-Year Absence

North Macedonia has officially confirmed its return to the Eurovision Song Contest, marking its participation in the upcoming competition scheduled for May in Burgas, Bulgaria. The country's public broadcaster, MRT, in collaboration with the European Broadcasting Union, announced the decision. This return follows a four-year hiatus from the event, though the absence was not directly linked to the ongoing war.

The nation has participated in Eurovision 21 times previously, with its last appearance being in Turin in 2022. Despite sending numerous popular artists and songs over the years, North Macedonia has never won the contest. Their highest achievement to date was in 2019, when their representative secured seventh place in the final held in Tel Aviv.

The 2027 participation in Bulgaria offers North Macedonia a new opportunity to showcase its distinct culture and music on the European stage.
