FedEx Appoints New Managing Director for Israel Operations
Global shipping giant FedEx has announced the appointment of Avishai Gazit as its new Managing Director for Israel. Gazit succeeds Miriam Tzur, who will transition to an external advisory role on strategic projects after a significant career with the company.
Gazit brings over 25 years of experience in aviation, logistics, and ground operations, including senior management roles internationally. He joined FedEx in 2018 as Ramp Operations Manager in Israel before being promoted to Senior Operations Manager for Southeast Europe, Turkey, and Israel. In that capacity, he contributed to enhancing operational performance, strengthening inter-unit collaboration, and fostering a strong safety culture.
In his new role, Gazit will oversee FedEx's operations in Israel, Greece, and Cyprus. He expressed pride in leading the Israeli team and emphasized the growing need for reliable, flexible, and efficient shipping solutions in the rapidly evolving global trade landscape. Gazit stated that FedEx will continue to provide innovative solutions to connect clients with global opportunities, leveraging its strong team, global reach, and customer-centric technologies.
FedEx has been operating in Israel for over 35 years, connecting local businesses to international markets through its extensive network. The company operates ten weekly wide-body cargo flights to and from Israel. Gazit's mandate includes further strengthening operational excellence and facilitating client access to key international markets via FedEx's global network.
