Shofar Blowing Event Moves Ramat Hasharon Residents

On the second day of Rosh Hashanah, members of the "Torani Core" group conducted a "Shofar Blowing Operation" throughout Ramat Hasharon, visiting public gardens, parks, businesses, and other locations to allow residents to hear the traditional shofar blasts.

Rabbi Hananya Rakhel, the rabbi of the Ramat Hasharon Torani Core, described the initiative, noting that on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, "not one Jew in the world failed to fulfill the obligation of the heavenly shofar blasts." He added, "May the year begin with its blessings! On the second day, we made an effort to blow for whomever we could throughout Ramat Hasharon."

Among the locations visited were Alexandroni Garden, Nahardea Garden, the Eternal Park where a play was also held, the new Shachal Garden, the Airplane Garden, City Hall Square, and the Garden of the Sons. At the Big shopping complex, shofar blowing continued until sunset, with residents waiting in line to hear the blasts. Rabbi Rakhel recounted, "At the Big complex, there were continuous blasts until sunset; we hadn't finished 30 notes before the next people were waiting for their turn."

The group also visited businesses where they had blown the shofar the previous year, only to find them closed this time. "We went to blow at three shops and a restaurant where we blew last year, but they were closed," Rabbi Rakhel said with a smile, adding, "Presumably, thanks to last year's shofar blasts."

During the operation, the group encountered a young man running with headphones on. After stopping him and asking if he wanted to hear the shofar, he hesitated but eventually agreed. When the shofar was blown, his eyes filled with tears, and he exclaimed, "Thank you! You made my Rosh Hashanah." In another moving encounter, an elderly woman in a wheelchair initially declined the offer to hear the shofar but quickly changed her mind and asked the rabbi to return. After he blew the shofar for her, she told him, "Look at my eyes, I can't stop crying," and blessed him to succeed in blowing the shofar for everyone in Ramat Hasharon. Rabbi Rakhel concluded the Rosh Hashanah operation by saying, "May the year begin with its blessings!"
