Rabbi Grossman Praises Unprecedented Sofer Training Course in Migdal HaEmek

Migdal HaEmek has marked a significant community milestone with the city's first-ever course for training scribes (soferim) specializing in religious texts, specifically catering to the Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) sector. The professional course saw 26 participants undergo intensive training in the sacred art of writing Torah scrolls, tefillin, and mezuzot.

The program was led by expert scribe Rabbi Pinchas Azulai, known for his unique writing style and engaging lectures that blend practical Halakha (Jewish law) with high professional standards. This initiative was facilitated by the city's "Otzma" center, which aims to integrate Haredi men and women into the workforce through tailored professional courses.

The graduation ceremony was attended by the Chief Rabbi of Migdal HaEmek, Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman, and Mayor Yaki Ben Haim. They presented the graduates with their certification.

During the event, Rabbi Grossman expressed his deep emotion, stating that in his 56 years as the city's rabbi, he had never witnessed such a unique course designed for Torah scholars and Haredi men in Migdal HaEmek. He lauded Mayor Ben Haim for his significant efforts and continuous dedication to the needs of the city's Haredi population.

Mayor Ben Haim affirmed the city's commitment to supporting all community sectors, particularly in developing professional and employment opportunities for the Haredi public. He called the scribe course, attended by dozens of scholars, a source of pride and a vital response to a significant need, promising further unique initiatives that will open doors to dignified livelihoods in line with tradition.
