Boy's Grieving Grandmother Cries Out at Court as Murder Indictment Filed

The grandmother of seven-year-old Hillel Mordechai Dadon, who was murdered in Beit Shemesh, clutched a photo of her grandson and wept outside the courthouse on Monday. Liel Ifargan, 26, has been indicted for Hillel's murder and the attempted murder of his cousin.

"He finished us, the person killed the whole family, one by one. We can't bear it at all anymore," Hillel's grandmother, Hannah, who suffers from a lung condition, cried out. She described the immense pain of losing her grandson, questioning what a young child could have done to deserve such a fate.

Hillel's mother, Tamar, spoke of the family's trauma and her fear for her mother's health. She expressed disbelief at the psychiatric defense, stating the incident shattered her innocence. "My life changed in one day, this man will get his punishment," she vowed.

Hillel's father, Amos, urged for a swift legal process to spare the family further suffering. "We are trying to be strong because we have other children," he added.

The indictment, filed by the State Prosecutor's Office, details how Ifargan allegedly emerged from a nearby housing unit with a knife on a recent afternoon. He entered the yard where Hillel and his cousin were playing in a pool, stabbing Hillel once in the chest and his cousin once in the neck with the intent to kill both. Ifargan then reportedly fled back to his unit and cleaned the knife. Hillel died from his wounds, while his cousin survived after surgery and hospitalization.

The prosecution stated the indictment reflects the exceptional severity of the charges and the tragic, irreversible outcome. They requested Ifargan be held in custody until the end of proceedings.
