Israeli Police Uncover International Women Trafficking Ring After Russian Intelligence Tip

Israel Police's Haifa District Central Unit has concluded a months-long covert investigation into an international network suspected of human trafficking, pimping, and facilitating prostitution in Israel. The investigation was initiated following intelligence received by the intelligence directorate's operational coordination unit from an Israeli police representative in Russia.

Various Israeli police units, along with law enforcement and other relevant agencies both domestically and abroad, participated in the operation. Investigators allege that network members contacted women in other countries, persuaded them to travel to Israel for prostitution, and then organized their sexual services, profiting from the activity.

During the probe, police utilized various operational and technological methods to monitor the network's activities and the routes used to bring women into Israel. The investigation led to the arrest of two primary suspects: a man in his 30s from Beersheba and a man in his 40s from Eilat.

On September 14, after gathering sufficient evidence, prosecutors filed a declaration of intent to indict both suspects. The prosecution also intends to request their detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
