Israeli Police Uncover Large Human Trafficking Network Exploiting Women with Fake Office Jobs
After a year-long covert investigation, Israeli police revealed a major human trafficking ring operating in the Haifa and Krayot area. The suspects allegedly lured women through social media with false promises of office jobs, only to coerce them into providing sexual services in rented apartments. The investigation by the Coastal District Unit found that the traffickers exploited women of various ages, including those with disabilities and those facing mental and financial distress.
The suspects reportedly provided the victims with housing and apparent salaries to maintain a facade, then advertised them on social media and used threats and pressure to force compliance. Following the transition to an open investigation on June 7, several suspects were arrested on charges including human trafficking, aggravated pimping, and extortion by threats. Their detention has been extended multiple times, and today, the Haifa Magistrate’s Court received a prosecution statement against the two main suspects, a man and a woman from the region.
