Israel Warns of Destruction for Any Approaching Mount Hermon Ridge
Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stark warning, stating that any entity approaching the Mount Hermon ridge will be "destroyed." The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are preparing to take control of the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon and are considering leaving an additional division in the Beaufort area after the upcoming holidays. Katz emphasized Israel's commitment to the security zone, declaring, "We are not moving from the security zone. The IDF will not withdraw until Hezbollah is disarmed."
The IDF estimates that following the holidays, an additional division will operate in the Beaufort ridge area alongside the existing 91st Division. However, a final decision from the political echelon is still pending.
Katz further elaborated that after eliminating Hezbollah terrorists and destroying their terror tunnels on the Ali Taher ridge, the IDF is operationally preparing to secure the area. The goal is to prevent any attempt by Hezbollah or other groups to re-establish a presence there. He affirmed that the IDF will continue to operate forcefully in the security zone, thwarting terrorists and terror infrastructure both above and below ground, and removing any threat to Israeli forces from any location.
