TJ Leaf Shows Comfort in Return for Maccabi Tel Aviv
Maccabi Tel Aviv is currently facing Olympiacos in a preparation tournament in Cyprus. TJ Leaf, who has not played since last December, appears to be performing well early in the tournament. Leaf returned to the court against Aris Thessaloniki, scoring four points, and has since shown comfort with two consecutive baskets.
Leaf's last official game was in February against Partizan Belgrade, where he scored six points in 18 minutes before sustaining an injury. Last season, he averaged 9.1 points in 18.2 minutes per game in the EuroLeague and 9.4 points in 16.6 minutes per game in the domestic league.
Leaf is in his second season in Europe and is in the process of becoming a citizen. This could allow him to play in the upcoming Super Cup without counting as a foreign player. Maccabi Tel Aviv will open their EuroLeague season against Villeurbanne.
