Mughar Residents Protest Land Seizure, Police Block Access

Residents of Mughar (Majd al-Krum) are staging a protest against the establishment of a settlement outpost in the Al-Rous area, which they believe threatens their historical land rights and the future of the town, particularly impacting agricultural landowners. They view the move as an attempt to impose a new reality that restricts their daily lives and ability to access their land, especially ahead of the olive harvest season.

Activists report that police prevented dozens of residents from entering their land to organize the protest, providing heavy security for the site. According to activist Rami Haidar, speaking to Radio al-Shams, this action reflects a policy of restriction aimed at weakening the residents' ability to voice their opposition. Haidar stated, "What happened today was an attempt to silence the residents' voices, but we will remain in the field and continue the protest until these decisions that threaten our land and existence are overturned."

The Popular Committee in Mughar has vowed to continue the protest despite obstacles, issuing a statement emphasizing unity in defending their land and rights. They are calling for increased public solidarity and legal and political pressure to halt these practices. The residents are determined to stand as a human shield against the challenges, asserting that defending their land is a defense of their dignity and existence, and they will persist until justice is achieved.
