Halaïli Becomes Youngest Israeli Scorer in Premier League History
Anan Halaïli made history on Saturday, becoming the youngest Israeli player to score in the English Premier League. The 22-year-old scored his debut goal for Crystal Palace in their 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town during the fourth round of the league. This marks Halaïli's first goal in the top English league and comes in only his third appearance for the Eagles.
Halaïli joins an elite group of 13 Israelis who have scored at least one goal in the Premier League. This list includes notable players such as Ronny Rosenthal, Eyal Berkovic, Yossi Benayoun, and Manor Solomon. The first Israeli to score in the top English league, prior to the Premier League's establishment, was the late Avi Cohen.
