Iran Foreign Minister, Pakistan Army Chief Discuss Middle East De-escalation
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Pakistan's Army Chief General Asim Munir held a phone conversation on Thursday to discuss ways to resume diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions between Iran and the United States across all fronts. The discussion also focused on the "American-Israeli war against Iran," the potential for resuming negotiations, and Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, according to a Pakistani security official who spoke to Reuters on Friday.
The Pakistani military had not yet responded to a request for comment from Reuters at the time of reporting. The conversation highlights ongoing regional diplomatic efforts to manage escalating conflicts involving Iran and its adversaries.
