Israel Approves Massive Housing Expansion in Ariel Settlement

The Israeli government has approved a major agreement to significantly expand the city of Ariel, located in the Samaria region. The plan involves the construction of approximately 18,000 new housing units, which is expected to double the city's size and bolster its status as a key regional center. The initiative was spearheaded by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and received support from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and various government ministries.

Supporters of the project believe it will provide a significant boost to the development of Ariel and the surrounding area. The agreement includes plans for new residential neighborhoods, catering to young families, as well as the modernization of existing areas. The development will also encompass upgrades to public infrastructure, the renovation of public spaces, and the construction of necessary facilities.

This marks the second large-scale general agreement of its kind for a city in Samaria, with the first having been established in Ma'ale Adumim.
