IDF on High Alert for Escalation with Iran During Holiday
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is maintaining a high state of alert throughout the holiday period, anticipating potential escalation with Iran amid regional tensions. The military has deployed 26 battalions in the West Bank and positioned forces in Lebanon and Syria. The Air Force is prepared for a swift strike against Iran.
In the Northern Command, IDF forces continue operations in southern Lebanon and Syria to neutralize threats. Division 36 remains in southern Lebanon, with its forces deployed in the Beaufort area and near the Ali Taher ridge, even after the destruction of tunnels there. Division 91 is reportedly holding the "blue line" from the sea to the mountains. The Bashan Division will conduct security operations along the Syrian border, including the Hermon sector and southern Syrian Golan Heights, even on the eve of the holiday.
An IDF spokesperson stated, "Even on the holiday, IDF soldiers in all sectors, regular and reserve, form a central pillar of the fighting and continue their mission to protect the citizens of the State of Israel, while marking the holiday and the new year."
