Ben Gvir Apologizes to Former Political Partner Tzvi Fogel

Otzma Yehudit party chairman Itamar Ben-Gvir sent a personal message to Knesset member Tzvi Fogel ahead of Rosh Hashanah, seeking forgiveness after their joint political path in the Knesset concluded. Ben-Gvir expressed warm sentiments, praising Fogel's actions and thanking his family. "Even when we do not continue together, due to circumstances, constraints, and the difficult decisions sometimes required in the complex political world, one must not diminish the great appreciation, love, and gratitude," Ben-Gvir wrote.

He described Fogel as a "dear, brave, and principled man, a fighter with a strong spirit," emphasizing that his courage extended beyond his decades of distinguished security service for the state. Ben-Gvir specifically lauded Fogel's long-held positions regarding the Gaza Strip, noting that Fogel had warned about issues others ignored. "You said it and you were right. What a shame they didn't listen to you. What a shame there weren't many more people like you," he stated.

Ben-Gvir also thanked Fogel's wife, Anat, and their children, stating he learned much from Fogel and that their shared journey in the Knesset and public life was a "great privilege."

Concluding his message, Ben-Gvir reiterated his deep affection and respect for Fogel, writing, "I love you very much, Tzvi, and I appreciate you. I ask for forgiveness from the bottom of my heart." He clarified that despite their political separation, their personal connection would continue, expressing confidence in future endeavors together. "Even if our joint path in the Knesset has ended, our path does not end here. I am sure that God willing, more will come. Thank you for everything, Happy New Year, may you be inscribed and sealed for a good year."
