Israel National Football Team Squad Announced for Nations League

Ran Ben Shimon, the coach of the Israeli national football team, is set to announce his squad on Thursday for the upcoming Nations League matches against Austria, Kosovo, and two games against Northern Ireland. A significant point of concern for Ben Shimon and his assistant, Gal Cohen, is the team's central defense. Players like Itay Rotman and Nikita Stoyanov are expected to be key defenders, with Raz Shlomo and Idan Nachmias also likely to be called up.

In positive news, Liel Abada, who has been in good form for Charlotte FC in the MLS, will return to the national team. He will join fellow MLS player Idan Toklomati, who has scored eight goals this season. Abada himself has contributed four goals and five assists this season. Both Abada and Toklomati, along with Tai Baribo and Dor Turgeman, will only join the squad for training on Wednesday, the day before the first match in Linz, Austria.

Captain Eli Dasa, who is currently without a club and is reportedly looking to sign with a Dutch team, is also expected to be included in the squad. Ben Shimon values Dasa's leadership and his ability to unite the younger players. Sources within the delegation noted that Dasa has performed exceptionally well for the national team in the past, even when he was not playing for a club.

The team is scheduled to fly to Austria next Sunday, where they will observe the Yom Kippur holiday. Approximately seven to eight players will arrive on Wednesday, just before the first game.
