Family of Abducted Girl Appeals for Prayers Ahead of Jewish New Year

As the Jewish New Year approaches, the family of Haimenot Kassaw, who has been missing for 929 days, is appealing to the public for prayers for her safe return. This marks the third year the Kassaw family will observe the holiday without their daughter. The headquarters for Haimenot's return announced that the Kassaw family will be the only family at the absorption center in Safed celebrating the start of the new Hebrew year, תשפ"ז (5787), as they refuse to leave until Haimenot is back home.

Haimenot's father, Tesfaye Kassaw, expressed gratitude to those supporting the family over the past two years and six months, acknowledging their help in thought, finances, and prayers. He described the convergence of Rosh Hashanah and the Ethiopian holiday of Enkutatash as a joyful and symbolic occasion. Kassaw reiterated his plea for all of Israel to pray for Haimenot's release and reunion with her family.

Alongside the hope for Haimenot's return, Tesfaye Kassaw voiced his desire for the family to resume a normal life, including studies and work. He anticipates a future celebration of gratitude for the community's efforts. He also wished for rest, security, and peace in Israel for his family and all Jewish people, hoping they will be inscribed in the book of good.

Concluding his appeal, Tesfaye emphasized that Haimenot is everyone's child and urged continued prayers for her swift return home, invoking God's will for her discovery and reunion.
