Rami Levy Cheapest, Tiv Ta'am Most Expensive for Holiday Shopping
As Israelis prepare for the High Holidays, a comprehensive shopping basket comparison reveals significant price differences among major supermarket chains. The investigation, conducted by i24NEWS, found Rami Levy Marketing Hashikma to be the most affordable option for holiday purchases, with an average basket costing 2,469 shekels.
Osher Ad followed closely as the second cheapest, with an average basket of 2,498 shekels. Yohananof ranked third at 2,592 shekels, approximately 100 shekels more than the lowest-priced chains.
Carrefour's average basket was priced at 2,612 shekels, followed by Machsaney Hashuk at 2,737 shekels. Victory offered a holiday basket for 2,799 shekels, and Kashet Ta'am's average was 2,853 shekels.
At the higher end, Shufersal's UniVerse chain presented an average basket of 2,916 shekels. Shufersal itself was the second most expensive, with an average basket of 2,988 shekels. Tiv Ta'am emerged as the priciest chain by a considerable margin, with an average holiday shopping basket totaling 3,282 shekels.
