Pioneering Israeli Space Researcher Dr. Adi Ninio Greenberg Dies at 50

Dr. Adi Ninio Greenberg, a prominent Israeli space researcher, passed away yesterday at the age of 50. The Israel Space Agency, where she served as a consultant in recent years, mourned her loss, stating she was a "cornerstone" of the Israeli space community.

Dr. Ninio Greenberg was a groundbreaking researcher who dedicated her life to space exploration, scientific education, and making the field accessible to future generations. Following significant service as an officer in the Air Force's space division and completing her doctorate, she became a senior advisor at the Israel Space Agency, managing academic relations.

In her role, she led numerous national and international projects. These included collaborations with NASA's Ames Research Center, managing the Israeli Space Agency's scholarship program there, and fostering research partnerships with the United Arab Emirates within the framework of the "VENUS" Israeli-French environmental research satellite.

She also spearheaded the Space Agency's research fund, established the scientific track at the International Ilan Ramon Conference, and developed space-related curriculum and community programs on the Campus IL platform. The Israel Space Agency described her as one of the most "recognized and beloved faces" in the field, whose passion for space was evident to all who met her. They added that as a lecturer and collaborator on research and educational projects, she inspired thousands of students, acting as a "true shooting star" for everyone.

The Israel Space Agency, the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, and the entire space community expressed their deep condolences to her family.
