Israeli Windsurfers Dominate World Championships in England

Israeli windsurfers Tamar Steinberg and Sharon Kantor are leading the women's competition at the World Championships in Weymouth-Portland, England, after the fourth day of racing. Steinberg maintained her first-place position throughout the preliminary rounds, with finishes of 12th, 1st, 2nd, and 1st on Thursday. Kantor, after a hesitant start, climbed to second overall, securing strong results with finishes of 9th, 11th, 13th, and 5th on Thursday. Both athletes are strong contenders for the medal races, with one day of preliminaries remaining.

Other Israeli women also performed well, with Shahar Tobi moving into seventh place and back into the top ten after finishing sixth and third in two of Thursday's races. Daniela Peleg is in eleventh place, improving her standing with finishes of 15th, 6th, 8th, and 8th on Thursday. The top 10 female windsurfers will advance to the medal races.

In the men's division, Yoav Omer, who held first place the previous day, dropped to fifth overall after Thursday's races, which included finishes of 22nd, 10th, 43rd, and 8th. Tom Reuveny also slipped in the rankings, ending the day in ninth place. Yoav Cohen is currently in 23rd place, and Tomer Vardimon is in 25th. The top 10 male windsurfers will also proceed to the medal races.
