Israeli Windsurfers Dominate World Championships in England
Israeli windsurfers continued their strong performance on the fourth day of the World Championships in Weymouth and Portland, England. Tamar Steinberg maintained her first-place position throughout the qualifying rounds, achieving finishes of 12th, 1st, 2nd, and 1st in Thursday's four races. Sharon Kantor, after a hesitant start, climbed to second overall, securing strong results with finishes of 9th, 11th, 13th, and 5th on Thursday. Both athletes are leading the competition and are strong contenders for the medal races.
In the women's division, Shahar Tobi moved back into the top ten, currently in seventh place, after completing races with finishes of 6th, 3rd, 12th, and 12th. Daniela Peleg improved her standing to 11th overall, with Thursday's race results including 15th, 6th, 8th, and 8th. The top 10 female competitors will advance to the medal races.
On the men's side, Yoav Omer, who held first place the previous day, slipped to fifth overall after finishing races in 22nd, 10th, 43rd, and 8th. Tom Reuveny also dropped in the rankings, ending the day in ninth place with finishes of 10th, 24th, 14th, and 15th. Yoav Cohen is currently in 23rd place, with Thursday's results being 18th, 18th, 32nd, and 13th. Tomer Vardimon is in 25th place, having completed races in 19th, 39th, 44th, and 33rd. The top 10 male competitors will also proceed to the medal races.
