Kushner, Ivanka Trump Top Influential Jews List; Netanyahu Drops to Second
The Jerusalem Post has released its annual ranking of the 50 most influential Jews in the world, with Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump taking the top spot. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who led the list last year, has moved to second place. Gadi Eisenkot and Naftali Bennett secured third and fourth positions, respectively. The publication highlighted Eisenkot with the headline "Israel's Next Prime Minister?", citing polls suggesting his party, "Yashar!", is ahead of both Bennett's party and Likud.
Other notable figures in the top ten include Ronald Lauder, Miriam Adelson, Wiz founder Assaf Rappaport, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg, and Bari Weiss. President Isaac Herzog is ranked 14th. A group of Israeli politicians, including Bezalel Smotrich, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Aryeh Deri, G Gideon Sa'ar, Avigdor Lieberman, Yair Lapid, and Yuli Edelstein, are collectively placed at 15th as "Netanyahu's partners and rivals."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who topped the list in 2022, is now at 21st place, falling behind Shin Bet head David Barnea and IDF Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, who are tied at 22nd. The new head of the Mossad, Roman Gofman, ranked 30th. Gofman assumed leadership of the intelligence agency on June 2nd following a contentious appointment process, which the newspaper suggests may have involved his predecessor, David Barnea. Barnea himself dropped to 40th place from third last year. Air Force Commander Tomer Bar and other generals share 34th place.
This ranking follows a recent report by Bloomberg noting that six of the world's ten wealthiest individuals are of Jewish descent, primarily American businessmen influential in the tech industry.
