Israel's IDF Works to Maintain Ties With UAE Amid Reports of Warning Call
Senior officials in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are actively working to preserve the "strategic" relationship with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), following reports of a warning call from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The IDF appears to be signaling to the UAE that security cooperation remains unaffected by recent events.
Despite concerns within the UAE that the incident may have political implications, particularly with upcoming Israeli elections, the bilateral relationship is currently being maintained closely. These ties have strengthened significantly in recent years, especially in recent months, driven by a shared focus on countering Iran.
This effort comes after reports surfaced detailing a warning call allegedly made by President bin Zayed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to these reports by stating that the UAE "exchanges all relevant intelligence information between the relevant parties." Meanwhile, sources within the Likud party suggested that a senior Palestinian official might be behind the leak of the story to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
