UNRWA Compound Demolished in Jerusalem Following Hamas Links Discovery

The demolition of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) compound in Jerusalem has been successfully completed by the Talaor Karadi Group. The site, located in the heart of the capital, has been reduced to rubble.

The decision to demolish the compound followed the discovery of serious findings indicating connections between UNRWA personnel and the Hamas terror organization. The Israeli security establishment has stated that senior UNRWA officials were directly involved in the October 7th massacre, and underground infrastructure used by Hamas was found beneath UNRWA facilities in the Gaza Strip.

The compound, which served as UNRWA's central headquarters in Israel, spanned approximately 46 dunams (about 11.4 acres) and was situated between Mahl, Netter, and Shlomo Zalman Shragai streets. Although UNRWA's official operations in the compound ceased about 18 months ago, individuals illegally occupying the site remained until early this year.

Pioneering the demolition process, police forces, engineers, and representatives from the Israel Land Authority began the operation in January. The CEO overseeing the project stated, "Today we closed a chapter with those who tried to harm Israel's security."
