Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Owner Richard Depp Sends Peace Overture to Chairman Shimon Mizrahi
Ahead of the Rosh Hashanah holiday, Richard Depp, one of the owners of the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball club, sent a personal letter to Chairman Shimon Mizrahi proposing an end to the legal dispute among the club's owners. Depp called for the arbitration process to be halted and for disagreements to be resolved outside of court.
In his letter, Depp expressed concern that the ongoing public conflict is harming the club and diverting attention from the strong roster assembled for the upcoming season. He noted that the expected arbitration proceedings throughout the season would create a negative atmosphere and urged Mizrahi to leverage his historical standing and legacy to reach a compromise.
Depp stated that his "door is always open for a serious and good-faith discussion" and expressed belief that a solution can be found that addresses both parties' concerns, preserves Mizrahi's legacy, and maintains the strong connection with the fans. He warned that a prolonged dispute would negatively impact the team's environment in the coming season.
