Actor Yehuda Levi Reveals Childhood Bullying Trauma

Israeli actor Yehuda Levi has shared a deeply personal account of enduring childhood bullying and ostracism, revealing how the experience has continued to affect him decades later. In a candid social media post, Levi described being shunned by classmates during a birthday party when he was in sixth grade, an event that occurred nearly 40 years prior while he was living in South Africa. He recalled feeling like an outsider for years before finally integrating into a group, only to be abruptly rejected.

Levi detailed the emotional impact of the ostracism, describing a feeling of detachment and the struggle to maintain composure while being mocked. He explained that this experience led him to develop a defense mechanism of emotional distance in adulthood, fearing that getting too close to people would make him vulnerable to hurt. This fear, he admitted, sometimes caused him to withdraw from relationships even as they became significant.

Acknowledging his own role in interpersonal dynamics, Levi also confessed to having hurt others, sometimes using humor insensitively.
