Channel 14 Personalities Join Likud Party List for Knesset Election

Several prominent figures from the Israeli Channel 14 television network have been placed on the Likud party's list for the upcoming 26th Knesset elections, marking a significant shift from media to politics. Among those joining the list are senior commentator Yaakov Bardugo, placed at number 11, and legal expert David Peter, at number 16. Bardugo, a 61-year-old lawyer and media personality who hosted the program "Seven" on Channel 14, left his positions to focus on campaigning.

Itzik Bonzel, father of a fallen soldier and a prominent voice for bereaved families, has been placed at number 29. Bonzel, who frequently appeared as a panelist on Channel 14 shows like "The Patriots," has become a recognizable figure through his media presence. His move signifies a transition from public discourse to direct political involvement within the Likud slate.

Also joining the Likud list are former MK Eli Goldschmidt, now at number 26, who has become a regular guest on Channel 14 following a shift in his political views after the October 7th events. Erez Tzadmor, a founder of the "If You Want" movement and a former campaign manager for Likud, is positioned at number 27. Tzadmor has established himself as a regular analyst on Channel 14 programs.

Brigadier General (Res.) Amir Aviv, a frequent guest on news programs and a panelist on "The Patriots," was initially offered a reserved spot at number 35. However, Aviv later announced he would forgo his place on the list to serve as an "external minister" for the movement, a move seen as highlighting how continuous media exposure on Channel 14 paved the way for political opportunities.

Notably, Yaara Zerad, host of the program "Five" and a leading political commentator on Channel 14, declined an offer for a reserved spot on the Likud list, choosing not to transition into politics.
