Israel Navy Holds Annual Memorial Ceremony for Fallen Sailors
An annual memorial ceremony for fallen Israeli Navy soldiers was held in September 2026 at the Elisha Park in Ashdod. The event was led by the Commander of the Navy, Major General Ayal Haral, and attended by families of the fallen, as well as current and former naval commanders.
According to Ynet, participants honored the memory of the fallen soldiers and discussed the importance of preserving their legacy and moral values for future generations of Israeli servicemen. Major General Haral stated, "Tonight we strive not only to remember their names and the stories of their lives, but also to carry a piece of them within us, their path, their spirit, and their values. They are always with us. We constantly remember your loved ones and continue to act on the path they showed us."
The military command emphasized that the Israeli Navy continues to fulfill its missions, relying on combat experience and the continuity of generations. The ceremony concluded with participants laying flowers and observing a minute of silence in memory of the fallen heroes.
