Channel 14 Panelist Guy Maroz Takes Two-Week Break for 'Post-Army Trip'

Guy Maroz, a panelist on the Israeli Channel 14 program 'HaPatriotim' (The Patriots), announced live on air Wednesday that he will be taking a two-week hiatus from the show. Maroz stated he is embarking on a "post-army trip" to Norway, Scotland, and Italy, clarifying that his absence is not due to being fired or quitting.

During the program's opening, Maroz wished viewers a happy new year and explained his upcoming travel plans. "I'm traveling tomorrow for a post-army trip. Really, for two weeks, a crazy trip, so I won't be here. Not because they threw me out and not because I quit," he said. He detailed his itinerary, starting in Oslo, then heading to Scotland and Italy for what he described as a "wild trip."

Maroz concluded his announcement by saying, "I'm saying goodbye to you now." His departure comes after several recent confrontations with other panelists. In one notable incident, Maroz stormed out of the studio after the program's host, Itamar Fleishman, called him an idiot during a segment discussing Ra'am party chairman Mansour Abbas. Maroz demanded an immediate apology, and when Fleishman refused, he left the studio.
