Bnei Brak Municipality Addresses Public Waste Complaints After Report

The Bnei Brak Municipality issued a statement on Thursday addressing public sanitation and safety concerns, a day after a local news outlet, 'Kikar Hashabat,' published a report detailing numerous resident complaints. The report highlighted alleged municipal inaction regarding waste disposal and infrastructure issues.

The municipality's statement specifically addressed an incident involving construction debris left in a public area. Officials stated that the contractor responsible for clearing a public garden had improperly disposed of construction waste nearby, instead of transporting it to an authorized site. The municipality emphasized that the responsibility for removing construction debris lies with those carrying out the work.

The contractor involved in the incident has been summoned for a clarification meeting, during which municipal work procedures were reiterated. The municipality explained that the contractor is new and was not fully aware of the established protocols, expressing hope that such an incident will not recur.

The municipality's response follows 'Kikar Hashabat's' report on findings from the State Comptroller's Office's Commissioner for Public Complaints. This investigation revealed that since the beginning of the year, dozens of complaints have been filed by Bnei Brak residents concerning sanitation hazards, garbage collection, infrastructure, and safety deficiencies.
