Netanyahu Moves to Marginalize Noam Party Ahead of Elections
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to "bury" the Noam party, led by Avi Maoz, in a move aimed at preventing the party from gaining significant political influence and potentially "burning" crucial votes for the right-wing bloc. This decision comes as the deadline for submitting Knesset lists passed on Tuesday, revealing behind-the-scenes political maneuvering.
Religious Zionists inquired about a potential alliance with Maoz, but Netanyahu reportedly refused, with both parties submitting their lists at the last minute. Netanyahu apparently recognized that Maoz lacks substantial electoral power and also sought to retaliate against him for actions detrimental to the coalition during the past four years in the Knesset.
Furthermore, Netanyahu and Likud members reportedly attempted until the very last moment to secure the second and third spots on the "Your People Israel" list for the Knesset. The Prime Minister's office and Likud members approached Noam's Natalie Shem Tov, urging her to transfer the list to the Likud party. The second-ranked candidate on the list, Yoseph Haddad, also received a similar overture.
