Massive Explosion in Netanya Destroys Luxury Cars Worth Millions

A powerful explosion near the "Wort Lagoon" hotel in Netanya, a busy area on the southern coastline, caused millions of shekels worth of damage on Tuesday. Miraculously, no one was physically injured in the incident, which occurred in minutes.

Witnesses reported the explosion originated from a Mercedes GLE SUV. The flames quickly spread, completely engulfing a Ferrari Purosangue parked next to it. The Mercedes GLE, a luxury SUV, costs between approximately 630,000 and over 890,000 shekels in Israel. The Ferrari Purosangue, an ultra-luxury SUV, starts at about 3.325 million shekels and can reach nearly 4 million shekels with added features.

Firefighters and police responded rapidly to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby vehicles and buildings. Israeli police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the explosion, but no official lines of inquiry have been released, nor has any potential criminal motive been confirmed.
