Eyal Berkovich Faces Complaint Over On-Air Tirade Against Producer

Former soccer star and media personality Eyal Berkovich erupted in anger during a live broadcast on radio station 103FM, where he co-hosts a current affairs program with journalist Erel Segal.

Berkovich directed his fury at the show's producer, identified as Assaf, accusing him of bias and demanding an objective editor. "Assaf, shut your mouth. You sit quietly. A one-sided editor. How can it be that they put a one-sided editor on the program? I want an objective editor. How can it be that a program's editor is one-sided? Shame on the program, shame on this radio station," Berkovich declared.

He further criticized the producer's alleged one-sidedness, stating, "Shame that they put an editor... The listeners are sitting in the car now and they need to know that this program tries to be objective. They brought your side, they brought my side, the editor must be objective and they brought a person who is one-sided."

Following the incident, the CEO of the organization "BeTzalmo," Si Glik, filed a complaint with the Second Authority for Television and Radio, demanding an infringement proceeding. Glik's letter stated that Berkovich's on-air insults towards the producer, without the producer being able to respond, were "a disgrace and a shame" and normalized violent discourse.

Glik concluded his complaint by demanding an immediate infringement proceeding, adding, "Mr. Berkovich repeatedly gets into trouble for hurting everyone and his wife. It's time that he or whoever employs him pays a heavy price."
