Hapoel Umm Al-Fahm Secures Narrow Win; Shadi Masarwa Scores Twice for Ironi Nesher
Four matches were played in the first division league on Wednesday evening. Hapoel Nov HaGalil achieved a difficult 1-0 victory over Hapoel Tirat Carmel. Maccabi Bat Yam defeated Bnei Najeidat 3-1.
In a match at the Salam Stadium in Umm Al-Fahm, Hapoel Umm Al-Fahm beat visiting Shabab Tamra 2-1. Hapoel Umm Al-Fahm's goals were scored by Mohammed Abu Al-Shaker and Ahmed Darawsheh, while Iyad Al-Haj scored for Tamra.
Ironi Nesher visited Hapoel Baqa Al-Gharbiyya and returned with all three points after a 2-0 win. Shadi Masarwa scored both goals for Nesher, the first from a penalty in the 30th minute and the second in the final minute of the first half. Although Baqa Al-Gharbiyya improved in the second half, the sending off of Atef Moussa midway through the half made their task harder.
Ironi Nesher coach Gal Barshan described the match as difficult, while Hapoel Baqa Al-Gharbiyya coach Mohammed Awadi attributed the loss to the absence of three defenders and forced player position changes.
