Comedian Guy Hochman Touched by Message from Wounded Soldier
Israeli comedian Guy Hochman shared an emotional exchange with a wounded soldier who thanked him for a recent performance. The soldier, Eldad, who identified himself as a wounded fighter from Lebanon using crutches, sent Hochman a personal message expressing how the comedian's show significantly uplifted him and his partner. "You are number 1!" Eldad wrote, adding, "You did our souls so much good!"
Hochman, who has been actively working to entertain soldiers and the wounded since the start of the "Swords of Iron" war, posted a screenshot of the message to his hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers. He expressed his deep gratitude, stating, "I came into the world for messages like these." He also wished Eldad well, calling him a "hero of Israel."
Hochman has taken on the role of "Chief Smile Officer" for the IDF during the war, performing for numerous units to boost morale. He has also created supportive content online, visited wounded soldiers in hospitals, and launched the "Mental Smile Officer" initiative. This project aims to support soldiers and their families dealing with psychological trauma resulting from the conflict, particularly those whose injuries are not visible.
