Grinzaig dismissed the report, initially published by Shlomi Eldar, as a "journalistic duck" lacking internal logic. He particularly took issue with the reliance on a previous report by Smadar Peri from October 9, 2023, which he claims was widely denied and factually inconsistent, yet is now being presented as absolute truth without qualification.

Grinzaig's comments drew criticism, with many accusing him of bolstering Prime Minister Netanyahu's narrative. Responding to these accusations, Grinzaig asserted that his entire piece was a critique of Netanyahu and that his colleagues, whom he referred to as "two clowns" with whom he unfortunately shares a profession, lacked basic reading comprehension. He specifically addressed Aviad Glickman and Ilan Lokaach, who he stated had wrongly attributed "Bibi-ist" stances to him in their response.
