Ex-IDF Chief Eisenkot's Party May Form Minority Government

Yoram Cohen, the second-ranked candidate on Gadi Eisenkot's "Yashar!" party list, revealed potential post-election coalition strategies. Speaking at a private gathering, Cohen addressed the scenario where the "change bloc" might not secure a majority of 61 Knesset seats. He stated that if they fall short, the party would not make a "foolish move" to allow Benjamin Netanyahu to remain as a transitional prime minister. Instead, "Yashar!" would aim to form a minority government, hoping for defectors from the opposition to join.

Earlier in the week, Gideon Sapir, a colleague of Eisenkot and an honorary member of the "Yashar!" list, suggested on 'Galei Yisrael' radio that Eisenkot's party might form a coalition with Arab parties, specifically mentioning Mansour Abbas. Sapir described Abbas as a "dear man" and "one of the better people."

Recent polling data indicates that Netanyahu is facing difficulties, while Naftali Bennett's support is growing, and Avi Winter is reportedly optimistic.
