Injured Mongoose Cub Recovers, Set for Release Back to Wild

A young mongoose cub, nicknamed "Lachmaniya" (Bun), has made a remarkable recovery after being struck by a car near Beit Shemesh approximately one month ago. Upon arrival at the wildlife hospital of the Ramat Gan Safari, the cub was in critical condition, suffering from severe anemia and unable to use her hind legs. Initial treatment was provided by the "For Wildlife" organization before she was transferred to the Safari's wildlife hospital for further care and rehabilitation.

Veterinarians diagnosed a fracture in the hip bone, near the pelvic joint, through a series of examinations and X-rays. The dedicated team administered pain medication, fluids, and ensured the cub received rest to facilitate healing. The cub has since shown significant progress, gaining weight to exceed one kilogram. X-rays indicate the fracture is healing well, and she is now alert, strong, walking properly, and displaying energetic behavior.

The hospital is closely monitoring her progress with the ultimate goal of a safe and swift return to her natural habitat.
