Brothers Sentenced to Nearly Two Decades for Attempted Murder of Sister's Partner
The Jerusalem District Court has sentenced two brothers, Ahmed Ahmed Abdullah and Mohammed Ahmed Abdullah, to 19 and 14.5 years in prison, respectively, for the 2023 attempted murder of a man romantically involved with their sister. According to the court's ruling, Ahmed enlisted his girlfriend to lure the victim to a parking lot near the Mar Elias Monastery in Jerusalem.
When the victim arrived in his vehicle, the brothers opened fire, shooting 11 bullets at him. One of the bullets struck him in the chest, causing him to lose control of his car and crash into a pole. As a result of the attack, the victim required medical treatment, including the removal of his spleen.
The court found both brothers guilty of attempted murder, with the sentencing reflecting the severity of the crime and its impact on the victim.
