Otzma Yehudit Candidate Links Netanyahu's Alleged Oct. 7 Warning to National Security

Gadi Mazoze, former deputy mayor of Beersheba, announced he will run for the Knesset with the Otzma Yehudit party. In a recent interview, Mazoze addressed reports of tension between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Otzma Yehudit leader Itamar Ben-Gvir, as well as a publication alleging Netanyahu received a warning about the October 7th Hamas attack.

Mazoze stated that if the reports about Netanyahu receiving a specific warning before October 7th and failing to act are true, "it is very serious and very worrying." He emphasized that he does not know if the reports are accurate but stressed the gravity of the situation if they are.

Regarding the reported friction between Netanyahu and Ben-Gvir, Mazoze dismissed it as "empty words," suggesting that political maneuvering and threats are common before elections. He believes that after the elections, the dynamics will change, and the focus will shift to forming a government based on the results. Mazoze also noted that Ben-Gvir has remained loyal to the coalition throughout the term, which Netanyahu should appreciate.

If elected, Mazoze plans to focus on issues concerning Beersheba and the Negev region. His primary goal is to combat the "emigration" of young people from Beersheba by implementing tax benefits and providing assistance to young couples who have served in the military or national service. He also aims to address rising living costs, unemployment, and internal security issues in the city, advocating for affordable housing and support for young families struggling financially.
