Ex-IDF General Warns of Iran Collapse, Nuclear Threat

Former IDF General Eliezer Marom, also known as "Cheney," believes that American economic pressure could lead to the collapse of the Iranian regime within weeks. He warned that while the U.S. has shifted from kinetic warfare to economic sanctions, Iran might be circumventing these measures through cryptocurrency and continuing its nuclear program in secret. Marom likened the U.S. strategy to a blockade on Iranian ports, aiming to "suffocate" the Iranian economy.

Marom expressed concern about Iran's nuclear activities, stating, "I don't know what's happening at Mount Makuch." He emphasized that relying solely on electronic means and remote monitoring is insufficient to know the full extent of Iran's nuclear progress. He also noted that unforeseen events, like the fall of the Soviet Union or the Arab Spring, can happen rapidly.

Addressing the possibility of the U.S. ending its campaign against Iran while the nuclear threat remains, Marom stated that if he were defense minister, he would declare Israel prepared for any threat and would respond accordingly. He assured the Israeli public that the country possesses a strong military capable of responding to any Iranian aggression, potentially accelerating the regime's downfall.

Marom's comments came during a discussion where he asserted that the U.S. is not dictating the terms of engagement with Iran, contrary to some beliefs. He highlighted the coordinated U.S. efforts to prevent Iran from producing and importing, blockading its ports, and forcing oil exports out of the Strait of Hormuz, while also building alternative routes. He cited an internal Iranian statement suggesting the regime cannot sustain the current economic pressure for much longer.
