Eyal Shoshan Wins MasterChef Israel After 15-Year Wait

Eyal Shoshan has won the "MasterChef: Dream Team" season, achieving a dramatic comeback 15 years after his initial appearance in the show's finale. The finale, which aired Wednesday, saw Shoshan declared the winner, with Haim Cohen placing second and Gal Kaspers third.

Throughout the competition, Shoshan was recognized as a strong contender. For the final challenge, contestants were tasked with creating a culinary journey. Shoshan chose to guide the judges through his childhood memories, presenting a smoked artichoke hearts dish with gazpacho and a white schug almond sauce, which garnered praise from the judges. Judge Eyal Shani described his cooking as "dizzying," while Michal Ansky lauded his "unexplainable pairings."

Shoshan then served a sea bream kokla wrapped in zucchini flower, accompanied by a bouillabaisse sauce. Judge Avi Biton commented, "You can't stop eating this," and Yoval Ben Neria called the bite "nothing less than perfect."

Following the judging of the first courses, Gal Kaspers was eliminated, finishing third. She expressed gratitude for the experience, stating it opened her up to new possibilities and proved her capabilities. She noted her disappointment that her tiramisu would not be tasted.

In the final showdown, Shoshan faced Haim Cohen. Shoshan's dessert, a "ma'amoul cassette," earned him a perfect score and ultimately secured his victory. Ben Neria described the dessert as "brilliant" and "one of the best desserts I've ever tasted."

With this win, Shoshan completed his journey from 15 years prior, claiming the "MasterChef" trophy.
