Yaron Zelekha Explains Alliance with Yoaz Hendel, Targets Seven Knesset Seats
Yaron Zelekha, chairman of the Economic Party, stated that his alliance with Yoaz Hendel has alleviated concerns about crossing the electoral threshold and set a target of seven Knesset seats. In an interview with 103FM, Zelekha asserted that the union would help his party reach its supporters with the message of their success in overcoming the threshold, and that these seats would not be taken from other parties.
Zelekha outlined his plan to reduce the cost of living, promising to cancel all import quotas and prohibit domestic monopolies from controlling and blocking imports. He specifically mentioned Tnuva, a major food producer, as an example of a company acting as both a monopolistic producer and an importer that obstructs foreign competition. Zelekha intends to dismantle exclusive importers, which he likened to 'shaltters' (a term often used to describe powerful, controlling figures), and directly subsidize farmers.
He argued that Israelis pay the highest prices for fruits and vegetables in the Western world, while simultaneously stifling local farmers. Zelekha concluded that the entire economic structure in Israel is flawed. He also promised that his economic plan would save every family approximately 30,000 shekels annually.
